Mr Vinay Takwale has extensive experience in medico-legal work. He accepts electronic instructions and has prepared more than 1000 medical reports.

He has attended various relevant training courses and is familiar with all current regulations. All his reports comply with Woolf legislation.

Mr Takwale has a wealth of experience in personal injury claims in relation to Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Reports on liability and causation in medical negligence cases are prepared from medical records without the need to see the Client.

If the case proceeds, formal clinical assessment of the Client will be necessary.

Areas of Trauma and Orthopaedics covered:

  • Fractures and soft tissue injuries to the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand
  • Work related injuries
  • Whiplash injuries to the neck and their relevance to shoulder symptoms

Fees:

The fees charged for providing a standard medical report for personal injuries claim is £350 (+VAT).

  • This includes inspecting all relevant documentation, medical records and clinical assessment.
  • If the Client has multiple injuries with a large volume of medical records, a higher fee may be charged.
  • Such a fee will be confirmed on acceptance of instructions and after receipt of medical records.
  • If the Client cancels the appointment with less than 48 hours notice, a cancellation fee of £100 will be charged.

Fees for reports on liability and causation in medical negligence cases will be charged at £250 (+VAT) per hour.

This usually results in a total fee of £400-£750 (this does not include any clinical assessment cost).

The fees to give evidence as a witness in Court are:

  • £1500 per full day
  • £800 per half day
  • Full reimbursement for road travel, first-class train or air travel and other expenses including accommodation that have been reasonably incurred.
  • If the case cancels within 14 days of the appointed trial date, 50% of the fee is payable.
  • If the case cancels within 7 days of the appointed trial date, the full fee is payable.

Average time from instruction to consultation:

Four to six weeks

Turnaround time:

Two-three weeks, provided all medical records are available at the time of the consultation.
